Cockermouth Scottish Country Dance Club

Club nights

Our Thursday Club nights offer a combination of teaching and dancing.  Our regular teacher is Angela Garrison, a long-standing member of the Club and a qualified Scottish Dance teacher, and the Club is very fortunate in also having among its members a number of other qualified teachers, who periodically take the class.

Evenings run from 7pm to 9.15pm with a short social break halfway through.   We start with a warm-up session and then move on to the teaching focus for the evening – usually an aspect of technique such as the steps and formations used in a particular dance. The remainder of the evening is then spent dancing through 7 or 8 dances.

The Club has a healthy membership and we usually have at least 3 sets dancing on Thursday evenings.

We welcome dancers of all ages and abilities to our club nights, although if you are completely new to Scottish country dancing, you may wish in the first instance to join our New Dancers’ Class.  We also welcome dancers from other areas who are visiting Cumbria to join us for the evening.

For more information, please email the Club Secretary at cscdcsecretary@gmail.com, telephone Angela on 016973 20082 or message us via the contact box on the Home Page.
